On Tuesday, April 12, Open Door Day took place at ““Ventspils nafta” terminals” (VNT). 44 students from five different Latvian educational institutions participated in the event.

Participants of the Open Door Day had an opportunity to meet and talk to the company’s management and employees, see the VNT territory, the central dispatcher building, laboratories and office-building complex. The visitors highly appreciated the diverse program of the day and also noted that due to the public activities of VNT in the past they have decided to pursue a career in engineering and natural sciences. The young people acknowledged that working for VNT is every engineer’s dream. During the event, guests were able to see the terminal in full operation and feel how it is to be a part of the daily team.

The VNT Managing Director Lars Pantzlaff said: “Each time we gladly welcome pupils, students and young professionals because we believe and want to show that work in VNT is exciting and interesting and, at the same time, requires high professional knowledge. We hope that insight into VNT will incite young people to study engineering and some day join our professional team.”

The event took place at VNT for the third time as part of the Open Door Week organised by the career portal from April 11 until April 15. ““Ventspils nafta” terminals” is a supporter of the Open Door Week. In five Open Door Days young people in 400 excursions all over Latvia have gotten to know 70 Latvian companies.
