On 3 March, for the fourth year in a row, SIA ““Ventspils nafta” termināls” (VNT) took part in the Rīga Technical University Career Day held at the Ķīpsala International Exhibition Centre. As always our aim was to familiarise students with internship opportunities and the company's operations. Everyone visiting the VNT booth could learn about the terminal’s programs for students, participation in projects, see samples of petroleum products and expand their knowledge of the oil transit industry.

On Thursday, 23 February, for the third year in row ““Ventspils nafta” termināls” (VNT) received an award in the category “Best Employer in Kurzeme Region” presented by the online recruitment company “CV-Online Latvia”. VNT was recognised as the most desirable employer in Kurzeme, in turn in Zemgale it was JSC “Dobeles dzirnavnieks”, in Vidzeme – JSC “Cēsu alus”, and in Latgale – JSC “Latvijas maiznieks”.

On 15 February ““Ventspils nafta” terminals” (VNT), which is one of the largest and technologically most up-to-date oil and oil product transhipment companies in the Baltic States, welcomed six students from Ventspils Gymnasium No. 1 and Kuldīga Centre Secondary School within the annual Shadow Day. The students from grades 9–12 acted as ‘shadows’ of VNT Managing Director Lars Pantzlaff, Operations Director Vilnis Riekstiņš, and Operations Project Administrator Valērijs Driņģis.

““Ventspils nafta” terminals” (VNT) refers to the information published by Ventspils Freeport Authority about transhipment volumes on the official webpage of Ventspils municipality www.ventspils.lv on 7 February 2017 and www.ventasbalss.lv on 8 February 2017 about the transhipment volumes in January 2017. The information as published is not representative, because the comparison of one single month with the same single month in the previous year is a snapshot which does not reflect the trend of the oil market in the Baltics over a longer period.
