VNT participated in the complex state civil defence drill “STORMEX 2016”

From 21 to 26 October 2016, the complex state civil defence drill “STORMEX 2016” took place in all regions of Latvia, in which SIA ““Ventspils nafta” termināls” (VNT) also participated.  A number of threat scenarios were simulated and the response readiness, as well as mutual cooperation among various response services of the state, municipal institutions, emergency services and other involved organisations was assessed within the drill.

Employees of ““Ventspils nafta” terminals” were “shadowed” by 3 shadowers

““Ventspils nafta” terminals” (VNT), which is one of the largest and technologically most up-to-date oil and oil product transhipment company in the Baltic States, welcomed three students-girls of Ventspils Secondary School No. 2 on the Shadow Day. One of the shadowers was a student of a graduation class, while the other two students have another year to go to complete their secondary education. The students acted as shadows of Lars Pantzlaff, VNT Managing Director, Vilnis Riekstins, Operations Director and Valerijs Dringis, Operations Project Administrator.

55 years in Latvia – ““Ventspils nafta” terminals”

““Ventspils nafta” terminals” (VNT) is celebrating its 55th year of operation since it was established in 1961. During all those years the terminal has transhipped more than 930 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products. Since the foundation, VNT has experienced the continued development and become the largest oil and petroleum product storage and transhipment terminal in the Baltic States.

About the reasoning of Ventspils Freeport Authority for the press statement on transhipped volumes

““Ventspils nafta” terminals” (VNT) takes note of the reasoning issued by Ventspils Freeport Authority on 21 September 2016 as to making statements about VNT capabilities regarding transhipment volumes. However, VNT is rather surprised that Ventspils Freeport Authority refers to conditions more than 30 years ago as the basis for its statements.
